Growing up in the Bulgarian countryside, Fo developed a strong connection to nature and form from an early age.
Gathering inspiration from organic formation processes, structural elements and architectural fragments, the artist creates constructed forms and compositions by juxtaposing them with elements of the natural world. These multi-layered complexities formed by the coexistence between the natural and the manmade are deeply rooted in his ongoing research.
Fo studied fashion design technology at London College of Fashion. During this time, he carried out an extensive research and subsequently developed an increasing curiosity in drawing and constructing. Eventually he wanted to dedicate his practice beyond the silhouettes of fashion and gradually moved on to less restrained ways of expression.
The process of his artistic journey is rooted in the way Fo sees. His acute pull to the silhouette and form, which was developed through his fashion expertise in pattern making, is today woven into his fine art practice.
At present, the artist focuses on exploring the notion of interconnectedness between people, nature and the communicating energies in-between by creating layers of ordered shapes and lines in contrast with fluid movements and fragments, reflecting the instinctive and the intentional.
Fundamentally, one of the artist’s main objectives is to invite the viewer to examine the depths of our interconnected existence and its often-complex essence.
Works have been exhibited in London at The Brick Lane Gallery, Aria, Mission E1, The Holy Art Gallery and Boomer Gallery. His work has also been featured in Barcelona/Algeria based magazine “Al-Tiba9”.
